Bladder Infection Remedy
A bladder infection remedy that is very affordable and quite effective is probably sitting right in front of
your eyes in your refrigerator.
A very large percentage of the U.S. population gets them. Although women get them more often than men the
burning and discomfort is the same for both sexes. Bladder infections or UTI's are the result of bacteria getting
into the bladder.
Bacteria thrives in an alkaline environment so the bulk of herbal remedies used to treat bladder infections aim
at raising the acidity of the urine thus creating an inhospitable environment for bacteria to grow in.
One extremely well known herbal bladder infection remedy is cranberry juice. Well known because it flat-out
works. It contains alkaloids which basically makes the bladder slippery to the point where the bacteria simply gets
flushed out during urination. Fairly large amounts are required to shift the ph of urine. It's best to drink the
purest cranberry juice you can get. ( Not the stuff mixed with sugar apples etc.)
Another Good Bladder Infection Remedy - Drink Water Another common attack point is to crank
up urine flow to flush out harmful bacteria. This is quickly achieved with diuretics. Uva ursi is commonly used to
kill bacteria. It produces arbutin which in turn kills bacteria. Widely used in Europe to treat UTI's.
Other herbal remedies for bladder infection that are effective in increasing urine flow are parsley, dandelion
leaves and hydrangea. They also aid in detoxifying the bladder.
Another way to treat bladder infections is to stimulate the entire immune system. Garlic and astragalus are
effective for this.
Although it's tempting not to urinate during an infection because of the pain, drinking plenty of water and
cranberry juice is important so that you can flush out bad bacteria as quickly as possible.
