Very light use of alcohol can also be beneficial. If there is a drink that you associate with relaxation
like a cold beer after a long day of work than having one helps to calm the mind because of the mental association.
Note: this isn't the case if excessive drinking culminating in an alcohol withdrawal is the cause of the panic
attack in the first place. (Yes alcohol withdrawal can leads to extreme irritability and panic attacks.)
